Inside the Western Wall

A bunch of teenagers carrying big guns.  I saw lots of these.
Oh, and of course Melyn blending right in, as usual.

Mmmm...pita.  Pita was used for sacrament bread at church on Sunday.  What a treat!

The restaurant we ate lunch in on the first day. It was right in the Old City, and you could have easily passed it without noticing it. Inside was fabulous. The owner was super nice, and the food...delicioso!

Lunch: Shawarma. Grilled chicken, vegetables, sauce (was it hummus Melyn?), and...french fries (yes, inside the sandwich). Mint lemonade, hummus and pita on the side.

Where it is believed the cross was put in the ground.  I say "it is believed" because no one really knows for sure where these events occurred.  They are the most likely spots*.  And churches are built over them all, with shrines like you see here.

*Where Christ was anointed.

Outside the Western Wall in the evening. A dinner of stuffed eggplant with Melyn and Kyler's friends from pottery class finished up the evening. A busy, wonderful day!
