On the heels of the exciting announcement that Prince William is engaged to Kate Middleton, I would like to personally congratulate the happy couple. Reading about this event in the news reminded me of a dream I had a few months ago. You know how some women have strange dreams when they're pregnant? Well I am one such woman.
Here's how it went: I am walking down the hall at school (college maybe?) when William approaches me. We talk for a minute, and he falls in love on the spot. I am flattered when he asks me to marry him, and briefly consider it before realizing, "Wait a minute, I'm already married. Happily." I tell him so, and he takes it very well. In fact, he respects me even more than he did when we first met (less than 2 minutes ago). We share a cab that drops us off under the train station by my house in Philly; William goes one way, I go the other. Then I get mugged by some shabby-looking girl who I proceed to punch repeatedly until she gives me my hot-pink cell phone back. The end.

Why Daddy is more fun than Mommy

He lets them do things like this after they're supposed to be in bed, and takes pictures. I'm really glad we have these pictures though.

I was not prepared for this

Well, Luke started kindergarten last week. The first day was "just fun stuff; we didn't really do anything important." The second day was "the same as yesterday. I'm not really sure what they're trying to do." Since then, it has improved and Luke feels like he's learning things now. Yay.
Luke has a classmate whose impression of school on the second day was quite different from his. We'll call this classmate "Maria", and this is her account (according to her mother).
Maria: Mom, I fell in love today!
Maria's mom: With who??
Maria: This boy named Luke! His heart touched my heart. I stared at him ALL day.
Umm, excuse me, but HOW old are these kids? I didn't think I'd have to worry about girls until at LEAST fifth grade. Good thing Luke is starting to lose his teeth. Maybe they'll come in all crooked and he'll look goofy for a few years until he can get braces. Then the braces will keep him awkward for another couple of years. Tack on a pair of huge glasses, and we'll call it good through his sophomore year of high school. Hey, it worked for all the Taggarts, right bros?
