Jim's mom has been here for nearly two weeks, and she is SO great! Every morning when I wake up, my laundry is folded and my kitchen is clean. She plays with the boys, and they love her to pieces. She has them rinsing their own dishes after dinner and saying, "May I please...". I tell you what, I could really use a full-time
mother-in-law at my house.
Last Sunday, we decided to take a walk downtown. It was sunny, the air was crisp, and the city was
beautiful. I think my attitude about Philadelphia was altered in one day. After a long winter being stuck inside, it was awesome to be outside around Independence Hall and the historic buildings. There is so much to see, and it was great fun. The boys were especially interested in the horse-drawn carriages.
One more day with grandma Tucker! *tear*
This dog's name was Stella. Her owners were very nice to let the kids pet her.
Trees in bloom. Luke called these popcorn trees (after the song).
He kept saying he didn't need to go potty, but I was having trouble believing him.
Jim took these great photos of Tag. He is such a funny little guy! He started out pretty funny-looking as a baby, but I think he's quite cute now, if I do say so myself.
After we got home from our walk, Jim took Luke and Tag to the playground while Joanna and I made dinner. Jim came home laughing as he related this story:
Luke was on the merry-go-round with a group of much older kids (below) and Jim was spinning it. They were going FAST and the kids started getting nervous and yelling, "Oh *s-word*!" over and over again. Luke was just smiling and exclaiming, "Woo woo! Here comes the fire truck!" He was oblivious to what the other kids were saying. After awhile, the boy in the red shirt said, "This ain't no !#*-#**ing fire truck!" Luckily, Luke was still in his own world and paid no attention. Ahh, the innocence of children. Well, not all children.
He fell off.
